AirPort Express with AirTunes is an incredible wireless product that allows you play iTunes music over your wireless network to your home stereo or powered speakers. It also allows you to share both a broadband Internet connection for up to 10 users and a USB printer. If you already have wireless at home, powered by an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station, you can easily extend the range of your wireless network by connecting a second AirPort Express to it. AirPort Express has a small unique design made for life on the go. There are no separate power supplies or cables required, making it easy and convenient to take with you. AirPort Express is also designed to fully support both Mac and PC users.

THE TRAVELING MOLESKINE NOTEBOOK OF FILIPINOS ON FLICKR (TMFF) PROJECT

March 18th, 2007

lagalag
For those who are interested:

THE TRAVELING MOLESKINE NOTEBOOK OF FILIPINOS ON FLICKR (TMFF) PROJECT

CONCEPT: Twenty Filipinos from all over the world who have never met in person will share images and stories in one traveling notebook.

MECHANISM:

1. The TMFF Project will be launched c/o Wilfredo Pascual in the United States. A moleskin notebook with a photo he took and a one-page handwritten story on its first page will be mailed to (A) of (country destination 1).

2. The snail-mailed TMFF will include a note on who to forward it to – (B) of (country destination 2).

3. The one who receives it will do the same. Place his photo. Write a one-page story. Mail it to the next person with a note on who to forward it to next.

4. The first ten destinations will be outside the Philippines. As soon as it reaches its tenth destination, it will begin its journey back to its roots, the Philippines.

5. The Philippine leg will follow the same rules, the notebook traveling from one part of the archipelago to another. As soon as the project reaches the twentieth Filipino, it will begin its journey back to where it started.

6. A discussion thread will be created for this project as well as a group of its own to keep track of the traveling Moleskin’s whereabouts.

TEN SIMPLE RULES:

1. Who can join? Filipinos with photos on Flickr.

2. You’ve never met the person you are going to mail the notebook to. Make sure though that you have informed him or her about the project and that he or she is willing to collaborate.

3. You cannot repeat or send it to a country destination or a province in the Philippines it has been to.

4. Only one printed image will be allowed; of any size, as long as it fits the page.

5. Any image as long as it represents either, a) who you are and what’s important to you; or b) the world and your homeland as you see it.

6. What kind of stories? About you and about the photo; or taking pictures in general (English or Filipino).

7. You’re free to design the layout of your page as long as it doesn’t exceed the two back-to-back pages that you’re allowed. You can even add drawings, color it, and/or create a collage if you want. And oh, don’t skip pages and don’t leave marks or notes on previous pages.

8. Cut out the stamp or postmark from the sender’s envelope and paste it on the cover.

9. Take a picture of your page and post it on Flickr.

10. Needless to say, it should be handled with care. The longest period the book can stay with you is one week and then you will have to let it go.

I’M MAILING OUT MORE THAN ONE NOTEBOOK SO THE TOTAL TARGET IS ACTUALLY MORE THAN TWENTY FILIPINOS.

FILIPINOS ON FLICKR FROM JAPAN, UNITED KINGDOM, HONG KONG, CANADA, CHINA, THAILAND AND ELSEWHERE HAVE ENTHUSIASTICALLY EXPRESSED THEIR WILLINGNESS TO COLLABORATE IN LAUNCHING THE PROJECT.

IF YOU’D LIKE TO BE A PART OF TMFF, PLEASE REPLY ON THIS THREAD AND MENTION THE COUNTRY OR THE PHILIPPINE PROVINCE WHERE YOU CURRENTLY LIVE. WHOEVER HAS THE NOTEBOOK MAY LOOK YOU UP AND EMAIL YOU FOR A POSSIBLE DESTINATION.

WHO KNOWS WHAT PHOTOS AND STORIES FROM FELLOW FILIPINOS WILL REACH YOU, DELIVERED STRAIGHT BY A POSTMAN, STRAIGHT TO YOUR MAILBOX — SOMETHING YOU CAN ACTUALLY TOUCH, LEAVE YOUR MARK, AND PASS ON.
